Norman Bowker
Alpha Company Soldier
ABOUT ME

Two defining moments for Norman Bowker were one, when he and the Alpha Company were in the shit field. Quinoa was sinking into the mud/shit and Norman tried to save him but couldn't, resulting in the death and of Quinoa. The death of Quinoa sent Norman into a complete downward spiral of depression and guilt/regret.
The second event is when Norman Bowker is driving around in his father's Chevy around the lake of his hometown several times. He rememnisces on the death of Quinoa and other details of his past in that hometown.
"Clockwise, as if in orbit, he took the Chevy on another seven-mile turn around the lake." (pg.139)
"He drove slowly. No hurry, nowhere to go." (pg. 143)
